Dr Elena Maritan

Dr Maritan received her MD in Medicine and Surgery at the prestigious and historical University of Padua. Further to this, she completed the specialist training in General Psychiatry, during which she specifically focused on depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, OCD, ADHD, and peripartum psychiatric disorders.

After completing this specialty training, she further studied Affective Disorders at King’s College London, where she gained particular expertise in the field of mood disorders mood disorders.

Dr Maritan has conducted research on the role of early life stress in depression, which is an area of particular interest. She regularly attended the South London and Maudsley tertiary care mental health service for patients with treatment resistant depression, where she was able to put her diagnostic skills to use by administering the most innovative therapies in the field with the aim of improving patients’ quality of life.

In addition to her latest academic and research experience, Dr Maritan has an excellent clinical background as a result of her previous work as a General Practitioner and General Consultant Psychiatrist.
